Breadboard
Breadboard is an electronic platform where you can build electronic circuits without soldering.  It is always a wise idea to connect the Raspberry Pi pins to be used to the breadboard and not directly to the device. That gives a lot of flexibility in terms of building electronic circuits and in connecting external devices.

The breadboard allows various circuitry constructions based on the need. The connections along both sides between the red and the blue lines go in length horizontally along the lines. However, the connections outside these lines (on the left and right side of the groove) are sideways connecting vertically a,b,c,d,e  slots together, and slots f,g,h,i,j together, as shown in (Figure 19).
